The Tower at Treves built by Foulques Nerra dominates the riverside which during the summer months is like a beach. So much so you can walk across to the island in the middle of the river or picnic on the sands. In winter the river is in usually in full flood. This year though with the lack of rain it is still partially dry - just beautiful on a clear, crisp December morning.
